WOMEN'S HEALTH

Women’s Health Physiotherapy is a non-surgical treatment for a number of health issues that are related to childbirth or gynaecological problems.

Gynaecology

Studies show that nearly one third of women develop problems during their lifetime with many failing to seek help due to lack of knowledge regarding treatment or embarrassment.

Physiotherapy treatment can be effective in relieving symptoms and in many cases a complete cure is possible. Treatment can involve education, advice and coping strategies and can include many other techniques including pelvic floor exercises, EMG biofeedback, manual therapy, neural mobilisations, soft tissue releases, relaxation techniques and breathing control.

We will advise and help with a graded rehabilitation program to return to exercise and sport as and when appropriate.

Symptoms may include:

Urinary incontinence / lack of bladder control

Bowel incontinence or constipation

Pre and post surgery problems

Pregnancy and post natal related issues

Vaginal prolapse

Pelvic pain
