Alexa Phillips
Physiotherapist

Alexa has been a Chartered Physiotherapist for over 15 years, graduating from the University of Birmingham and taking up a post at The Royal Free Hospital. Alexa specialised in Musculoskeletal outpatients and Women's Health. She then worked in a busy outpatient clinic in Westminster treating NHS patients and then joined us here at Village Physiotherapy. Alexa has also worked for football and rugby clubs and has a fundamental interest in sports injury and rehabilitation. Through more than 10 years in the private sector Alexa has enhanced her manual therapy skills and rehabilitation skills tailoring treatments to the individual. Having taken advanced courses in Pilates, the Female Athlete Runner, the Athletic shoulder and Spinal mobilisation, Alexa balances hands on therapy with exercise and has also worked within a Community Pediatric Team in Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone and enjoys working with athletic children.

As a Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist Alexa is leading the Pelvic Health service here at The Village. Alexa is a qualified Mummy MOT Practitioner and has advanced skills in Gynecology and Obstetrics. Alexa is an affiliate member of the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynecology Physiotherapists (POGP) and sits on the POGP research review group for the POGP Journal.

Alexa is passionate about enabling women to fulfill their roles in the workplace, on the field and with their children. Alexa treats problems related to the pelvic floor and pelvis; including urinary incontinence and urgency, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, constipation, painful intercourse, scar pain as well as aches and pains during and after pregnancy, mastitis and her biggest passion; supporting women back to exercise.

When Alexa is not in clinic you will find her running around after her own family, at the Taekwondo club, gym, out for a run or doing a little yoga for some well-earned 'me time'.
