Richard Keating
Podiatrist
Richard has a background in general podiatry with a specialist interest in biomechanics and how the foot behaves in gait. He graduated from Brighton University with a degree in Podiatry in 2014. Following one year working in private practice, Richard moved into an NHS based position last year.

Richard's favoured area of care is based around biomechanics however he also has an interest in doing minor nail surgery procedures under local anaesthetic and routine foot care. A specialist interest in biomechanics has led him to pursuing a masters degree in clinical biomechanics which he has returned to the university of Brighton study.

Richard believes in a tailored approach to care and he believes that the footwear we choose and insoles we wear greatly influences our chance of recovering from a musculoskeletal complaint and can reduce the risk of recurrence. He regularly attends Brighton and London Marathon where he helps out runners using his knowledge of running mechanics to help get athletes back on their way.

Richard was the Novice British University Champion in amateur boxing at lightweight. He has trained and sparred with some of GB's elite athletes, now being unable to dedicate the time he would like to the sport he is retiring from competitive boxing to take up a coaching position.
